Great program. I had been using an old Microsoft add-in. Your program is 100 times better. Wish I looked for it earlier.

What about Outlook 2010 64-bit?

Microsoft Office 2010 is available in 32 bit and 64 bit versions. The 32 bit version will run on 64 bit versions of Windows.

Microsoft say there is no speed benefit with running 64 bit versions of Office 2010 over 32 bit versions. The main benefit is that larger file sizes can be used.

Davton Sync Products are currently 32 bit applications. Along with many other add-ins, they will not run with Office 2010 64 bit installations. Microsoft recommends installing Office 2010 32 bit versions for any users requiring to use 32 bit add-ins - such as Davton's Sync Products.

A 64 bit compatible Davton synchroniser is coming soon!

Public and Personal Folder Synchronisation

There are several standard tools available to synchronise iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones with Outlook Personal Folders. So getting your personal contacts, appointments and tasks onto your phone is relatively straight forward.

Davton have solved the Public Folder synchronisation problem by creating a tool which synchronises Public Folders to Personal Folders. Once the contacts, appointments or tasks are transferred from the Public Folder to the personal folder, your standard method of synchronising personal folders automatically copies the data to your iPhone, Blackberry or Android phone.

Sync Products Summary Table

Do you need 1-Way or 2-Way Sync ?

1-Way Sync: Use SyncManager (1-Way sync) where you want to ensure the integrity of the Master folder

With 1-Way sync there is a clear master folder (normaly a public folder) which never gets changed. Any changes to the Public folder are replicated to the other folder. Changes made to the Personal folder are NOT copied to the master folder.

2-Way Sync: Use DavSync (2-Way sync) where you want to be able to update the data from local folders as well as centrally

With 2-Way sync changes in any folder are copied to the other folder (or folders). This makes it much easier to keep the central folder up to date. It also means it is harder to control the changes being made to the data.
