How it works
Cloud Folders takes your shared contact database stored in an Outlook Public folder, and makes it available on your mobile phone.Cloud Folders is a database built in the cloud using Google's App Engine. Davton install a small piece of software on a PC or server at your offices, which copies the contact data base to the cloud database, and the keeps it synchronised.
App Engine Databases are highly secure - kept in what is called a 'Sandbox'. This means that no other piece of software running on Google's servers can get access the data. In addition, no one can access the database unless they have a username and password.
Davton have designed an interface which allows users with a login name and password to search the database, view the contact details and if they have edit rights - to edit and update the contact details.
Any changes made via your mobile phone will be copied back to the master database.
